With this minimalist image of a swan, Stockholm-based freelance photographer, Edwin Råsberg, finds a way to arrest a moment completely with his camera.

There’s just the swan and some water, but the image is truly mesmerizing. Perhaps we see more than there is because the swan is really an unusual bird. Not just for its size and colour but also for its mythological and historical role in many cultures.

From Ugly ducking to the Greek King of gods, Zeus, the swan has appeared in legends and stories for millennia. It even has its own constellation in our sky, the Cygnus (also known as the Northern Cross), deriving its name from the Latinized Greek word for swan.

This beautiful image can evoke all of this, or perhaps just a moment of tranquility and silence, in any interior. Elegant, striking and strong.
